I'm not sure what is southern or wedding-themed about this drink, but it is light and refreshing with grapefruit and just a hint of Luxardo maraschino.
3 oz. gin
2 oz. fresh squeezed grapefruit
1 tsp. Luxardo
Combine all ingredients in a shaker with ice. Shake and strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
